#HowToConfuseAMillenial is a trending hashtag on Twitter. It started off as a way for older generations to gripe on the indecisiveness of those born in the 1980s & 1990s. Here is a sample of older generations having fun at the millennial’s expense:

What they weren’t accounting for was that millennials are much craftier and witty than they thought. They quickly took over and re-appropriated the hashtag. We are sure that older generations felt a little embarrassed after seeing some of these tweets:

There is a lesson to be learned from this hashtag. It is not smart to judge an entire generation of people based on your thoughts and sensibilities. It is better to be tolerant of others and try to understand their issues. Millenials are facing a world that is much more complicated than the world older generations face. Instead, mentor them and they will be more likely to understand you (and also help you with the more complicated technology of today).
