RP Live – Police: Reform or Abolition?

June 13 @ 9:00 pm EDT

Given its history and purpose, policing is not meant to be reformed. What are our choices?

Update: Join us for RP Live with David Correia and Tyler Wall, authors of Police: A Field Guide

Tuesday, June 13th at 9 pm ET/6 pm PT — Registration link below

Police: A Field Guide is a study of the indirect and taken-for granted language of policing, a language we’re all forced to speak when we talk about law enforcement … the authors expose the way “copspeak” suppresses the true meaning and history of policing. Like any other field guide, it reveals a world that is hidden in plain view.  (Verso Books)

David Correia is a professor of American studies at the University of New Mexico. He writes about violence, law, and race under capitalism.

Tyler Wall is associate professor in the department of sociology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His areas of interest include Critical Police Studies; State Violence and Racial Capitalism; Law & Society, Race and Class.
