If slavery was a moral test of socialism, then abolition was verification that socialism could change the foundations of society, and that perhaps a more just and equal world was possible.

Without protecting communities from the feudalistic nature of monopolies, we are, in turn, opening the gate to fascism—which is the intertwining of corporate and state.
